Add-on Cruise Control Unit

Installed and working, installation was pretty straight forward and easy.
The instructions for an installation on a 2022 Chevy spark aren’t updated . Called the cruise control store twice for the mechanic to get instructions, otherwise very satisfied. The cruise works great. **** Very sorry for the issues with instructions. New kits are now shipping with the addendum for the newer models. ****

Easy install and Great Service

The installation is simple and it works great, instruction are clear and detailed, keep in mind that car companies change little things occasionally, so included with the instructions the store adds instruction updates, I gave them a call and the person who answered was incredibly knowledgeable and solved my problem in seconds. I couldn't be happier. Thanks.

Easy install and works great

I bought this for my daughter's car as she has started commuting to college a few days a week. The cruise control system was easy to install (2.5 hours) and works flawlessly. The hardest part was trying to find out how to take the steering column cover apart to install the actual control arm. There was nothing in the instructions and I could not find anything on the internet for this particular vehicle. Where there are supposed to be screws per previous model years descriptions, there was nothing. I finally figured it out and it was very easy to install after that. If anyone is wondering...There is a screw in the bottom and then where a previous reviewer stated he had screws there are tabs you need to pry out instead. You turn the steering wheel 90 degrees and you will see a long 'U' shaped tab at the front of the column cover, get a small screwdriver and pry the tab out slightly. Turn the steering wheel 180 degrees in the opposite direction and you will see another long 'U' shaped tab, pry it out slightly and the steering column cover should pop apart. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is there are no vehicle specific instructions for removing the steering column cover. Overall I am very pleased with the design, function and easy of install. I would definitely recommend it to others.

Easy install on 2017 Spark LS automatic transmission

This is an easy install, most difficult part being the top steering column cover. I used a "add-a-fuse" in the under dash fuser box for the red wire. I also used the diagnostic harness. These two together allowed me to avoid splicing wires which I don't like to do, for trade-in value reasons. If you put your hand up high above the area that contains the lighter socket and audio USB connection you will find an opening the is a very good place to put the box and extra wiring. I used velcro to fasten the box to the plastic surface. The diagnostic harness is the perfect length to reach from that area and the diag connector with nothing left over. Regarding the steering column cover. Remove screw from bottom side. Turn the wheel half-way in both directions to remove the two front facing screws. The upper and lower parts have a plastic mating pin on each side. Using a larger screwdriver or other device put a little separation pressure on the underside of either front corner section where the two pieces mate. You should see a slight space appear where the two sections are trying to separate. push a smaller screwdriver into this crack and the two should pop apart without damage. The pin and the mating hole have a snap fit The back part will separate with no problem. I drilled a 3/8 hole 1/2 in below the headlight switch hole and also remove the headlight switch connector so it would not be in the way. I positioned the cruse switch so that I can see the led light below the steering wheel spoke with the wheel straight ahead level. With these cruise controls I think it is important to be able to see the led light. If you can get this far the rest should be easy. I might also add that the cruise that I put on my 2014 spark four years ago was well received by the chevy dealer when I traded for my new car. I have been installing these since back in the nineteen sixties. Back in those days we had to attach magnets to the drive shaft since there was no crank sensor or other electronics. Rostra has been very good about keeping up with the times.
Press the Set button while your foot is on the brake to turn on the feature. You can change the set speed, still with your foot on the brake, by pressing the “+”/resume or “-”/Set button repeatedly until the system shows your desired speed. Then, take your foot off the brake, and the vehicle will hold its position.
The most common reasons a Chevrolet Spark cruise control isn't working are failed control module, sensor or switch issues, or throttle actuation problems.
The 2022 Chevrolet Spark has an engine with a horsepower of 98. Its transmission is a 5-speed manual, but you can swap it out for the continuously variable transmission, or CVT. You can do this with any of the four trims that the Spark has.
Spark 1LT is designed to be the center of attention, thanks to 15-inch Silver-painted aluminum wheels and body-color mirrors. With electronic cruise control and an available power-sliding sunroof, Spark 1LT is perfect for escapes from the city. 1 Chevrolet Infotainment System functionality varies by model.
Generally speaking, yes. Cruise control can help you become more fuel-efficient and can help you save an average of 7-14% on gas thanks to its ability to maintain a continuous speed. In comparison, the constant change in acceleration and deceleration of the driver placing their foot over the pedals can eat more gas.
Even adaptive cruise control may struggle to perform safely and efficiently at night or during bad weather. When any type of cruise control is activated, your vehicle may not properly adapt to increased braking distances during rainstorms or winter weather.
If you don't routinely and constantly change your fluids at least each 30,000 miles or so, you may find that your 2021 Chevy Spark transmission will instantly slip. Check your car's owner's manual for more details on the specific mileage intervals in which your transmission needs the fluid changed.
The 10L90 is one of General Motors' most advanced automatic transmissions, and its wider 7.39 overall gear ratio spread enhances off-the-line performance, with an aggressive first-gear ratio of 4.70.
Drivers were becoming more interested in subcompact crossovers, and sedans and smaller hatchbacks saw an overall drop in popularity. Over the next few years, the sales for the Chevy Spark failed to recover, and GM announced that 2022 would be the last production year for the Chevy Spark.
Each time you hit the button, the vehicle will accelerate by 1 mph. You can also use this button to resume your previously set speed. Set -: This button will decrease the set speed. Each time you press the button, the cruising speed will decrease by 1 mph.
The E-Cruise Module is the proverbial "brain" of the entire system and with the assistance of the included accelerator pedal interface harness, intercepts the communication between the pedal position sensor and the vehicle' Electronic Control Unit (ECU).
“Connected to the accelerator, cruise control uses an actuator to control the throttle to maintain the pre-set speed. Adaptive cruise control is an enhanced system that manages the speed electronically.”
To stop cruise control briefly (such as when a car in front of you brakes), just press the brake as you normally would. If you are driving a manual, you can also disengage cruise control by pressing the clutch. If you are completely done using cruise control, you can press the “OFF” or "ON/OFF" switch.
(Cars with stalk-operated cruise control have a "cancel" position that you move the stalk to in order to disengage the system.) A "resume" function or button brings the car back to its previously set speed. Braking or depressing the clutch at any time will also cancel cruise control.
If your cruise control light remains on even after you turn the system off, you may have a problem with your speed control assembly. This issue is usually due to a malfunctioning fuse or a communication disruption in your vehicle's computer.
